Welcome to Camas United Methodist church. We are a Christian organization deeply rooted in the community. We believe the Christian life is about listening, learning, giving, and having a real impact right here in this Good world. We believe God is at the center of life in the best way possible and that we as Christians are invited to fully participate in the Good that is every day all around us.
Are you new to the Camas/Washougal area? Pulling up stakes and investing in a life of wellbeing is a great blessing. Let us help you put down roots. Our congregation welcomes those new to the area and can offer the blessings of deep roots in this good place.
We are an intergenerational church, and our goal is to build real community—all ages and generations all together. Do you, also, feel called to this? Come be part of our endeavor!
Upcoming & Ongoing:
Check out Rev. Richenda’s Blog to learn more about who we are as a a people of faith.
Thank you to all who helped with our Christmas Book Drive!! We gathered more than 700 books for children grades k-6. This helps so much as we gear up for the launch of Project Transformation this summer. Project Transformation is a literacy program for low income kids who need a little extra help. We are dedicated to helping them close the achievement gap and to do that, we need books!! Our Christmas book drive is complete, but we will continue to need and gather books as books are an essential part of our literacy program. Please help us by donating children’s books for readers grades k-6. Thank you so much!
First Fridays! Our church is now participating in First Fridays, a monthly event put on by the Downtown Camas Association! Thank you DCA!) For our first ever Friday we had the fun of setting up a ‘Blessing of the Animals’ booth just for Dog Days of Summer. We blessed about 70 pooches, raffled a gift basket, and gave out treats. It was a day of blessings, indeed!
Every 2nd Sunday of every month we will provide a lunch and activities for families in our fellowship hall at 11am (following our 10:00am Sunday Service). This activity will be like an open Sunday School where families can share time together. Tables with activities will be set out where kids (and parents, too!) are invited to play and learn the stories that ground us in a good and faithfilled life.
Camas-Washougal Community Orchestra practices at the church every Thursday evening at the church. All skill levels welcome. Learn more by clicking the link.
